Spider Control for Homes & Businesses

Black widows in the garage, webs on the eaves, wolf spiders wandering across the floor. Zap treats spiders inside and around homes and businesses across the Sacramento region.

Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Send a message any time.

Spiders we see most

  • Black widows: shiny black with a red hourglass underneath. They build messy webs low and out of sight: garage corners, meter boxes, woodpiles, block walls and outdoor furniture.
  • House spiders: tangle webs in corners, closets and eaves.
  • Wolf spiders: large, fast hunters that wander inside, especially in fall.
  • Orb weavers: big round webs across walkways and eaves in late summer.

How we treat spiders

We focus on the places spiders live and hunt: eaves, window frames, garage corners and door thresholds, block and stone walls, and the base of the structure. Removing webs and egg sacs is part of the job. Because spiders follow their food, we also look at the insects drawing them in, such as ants, earwigs and crickets.

Keep them down between visits

  • Wear gloves when moving firewood, boxes and pots
  • Keep firewood and stored items off the house walls
  • Seal gaps under garage and exterior doors
  • Switch porch lights to yellow bulbs to attract fewer insects

One-time or recurring

Spiders come back each season, so many customers choose recurring pest service. Spider treatment is also part of our general pest control. Read more in our black widow guide.

FAQ

Spider control questions

Where do black widows hide?

Low, dark, undisturbed spots: garage corners, meter and sprinkler boxes, woodpiles, block walls, under outdoor furniture and inside stored pots.

Why do I see more spiders in the fall?

Many spiders mature in late summer and fall, and males wander looking for mates. Cooler nights also push some spiders inside.

Will spider treatment keep webs off my eaves?

Treatment and web removal reduce spiders around the home. New spiders move in over time, which is why recurring service is popular for spiders.

Do you treat spiders for businesses?

Yes. We provide spider control for homes and commercial properties.
