1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, such as when you call, text, email, fill out our contact form, or schedule service:

• Name
• Phone number, including your mobile number
• Email address
• Service address and property details
• Service details, such as the pest problem, inspection findings, appointment history, and billing information
• The content of messages, emails, voicemails, and calls you send us

We also collect some information automatically when you visit our website, such as your browser type, device type, pages viewed, the site that referred you, and general location based on your IP address. See Cookies and analytics.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Respond to your questions and requests for service or estimates
• Schedule, confirm, and remind you about appointments
• Perform inspections and pest control services
• Send service updates, reports, invoices, and receipts
• Provide customer care by phone, text, and email
• Send occasional offers, if you have agreed to receive them
• Improve our website, services, and customer experience
• Meet legal, regulatory, tax, and recordkeeping requirements
• Protect against fraud, misuse, and security issues

3. Text messages (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about appointment scheduling and reminders, service updates, customer care replies, and occasional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. 4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run our business and serve you, including with:

• Service providers who help us operate, such as our scheduling and customer portal software, phone and texting providers, email, website hosting, form processing, payment processing, and analytics. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal and safety reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Zap, our customers, or others.
• Business transfers, if our business is merged, sold, or reorganized, in which case your information would remain subject to the protections in this policy.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties, as described in Text messages (SMS).

5. Phone calls and call recording

Calls to and from Zap may be recorded and monitored for quality, training, and customer service purposes. Some calls may be answered or handled by an AI phone assistant that can take messages, answer basic questions, and help schedule service. We may also use call tracking to understand how customers find us, which can include logging the phone number that called, the time and length of the call, and the web page or ad that led to the call. By continuing a call with us, you agree to this. If you do not want your call recorded, you may email us instead at office@zappest.com.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies, including analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the site, measure the results of our advertising, and improve the site. These tools may collect your IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This site uses Google Analytics and call tracking to understand how visitors find us.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work if you do. Some browsers also let you send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we treat as a request to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Third-party services

• Customer portal. Our customer login at zappest.pestconnect.com (opens in a new tab) is provided by a third party (PestPac / PestConnect). Information you enter there is also handled under that provider's privacy practices.
• Contact form. Our website contact form is processed by Formspree, which delivers your submission to us by email.
• Maps. Our website includes an embedded Google Map. Google may collect information when the map loads or when you interact with it, under Google's privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. Please review their policies.

8. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you these rights:

• Right to know. You can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, and who we shared it with.
• Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax or pest control regulations).
• Right to correct. You can ask us to fix inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and give you a way to opt out.
• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require this right.
• Right to non-discrimination. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

In the past 12 months, we have collected the categories of information listed in Information we collect: identifiers (name, phone, email, address), commercial information (service and billing history), internet activity (website usage), audio recordings (calls), and the content of your communications. We collect it from you, from your devices, and from our service providers, for the purposes listed in How we use your information.

How to make a request. Call or text (916) 999-9747 or email office@zappest.com. We will need to verify your identity, usually by matching your name, phone number, and service address to our records. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you, and we may ask for proof that the agent is authorized. We will respond within 45 days, as required by law.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Customer and service records are generally kept for as long as you are a customer and for the period required by California pest control, tax, and business recordkeeping laws. Call recordings and website contact form messages are kept for a shorter period unless they are needed for a service record or dispute. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
